Marc Durdin Tavultesoft Staff | Thanks for the query! Keyman Desktop 8 runs on Windows 8 today, with a minor registry change required to use Keyman Desktop with full-screen Metro-style applications. See http://blog.tavultesoft.com/2012/05/how-to-get-keyman-desktop-8-working-in-windows-8-consumer-preview.html for details.
Keyman Desktop 9 will introduce deep support for touch devices, including Windows 8 touch devices. We do not have a release date for Keyman Desktop 9 yet but we will have a public beta. |

David Sienko | Wondering how Keyman Desktop 9 is coming? With more students getting Surface RT devices. Tried using Keymanweb, but the visual keyboard jumps from the bottom to the top when the page fully loads. It appears the div needs a fixed position.
Also Android app??? Hope the weather down south doesn't get too hot for your summer. Dave |

Marc Durdin Tavultesoft Staff | Keyman Desktop 9 will run on Windows 8 Pro devices but not on Windows 8 RT devices. These are locked down so things such as custom keyboards can not be introduced across the system. We may release an app similar to the iPhone and iPad apps we now have but it will be a low priority due to its small market share and difficulty in covering the development costs.
Keymanweb.com should be working on the Surface RT, however. I will ask the devs to look into that. |

Marc Durdin Tavultesoft Staff | The Android app is imminent. Working through bugs in Android's font support, especially in Jellybean. It seems "Your Mileage May Vary" is a key phrase in terms of Android language support. We will do the best we can to provide support for as many languages as we can, as always! |

David Sienko | I feel the Android 4.3 anguish. I built one app the ran perfectly in 2.3 to 4.2, then things starting disappearing in 4.3. Anything with a glyph U+0313 didn't use the font. Some characters disappeared all together. U+1dbb being one. |

David Sienko | Not sure if you are using webview for teh app, just came across this as a possible fix for my app.

Marc Durdin Tavultesoft Staff | Thanks Dave, I will pass that link on to our Android dev. |
