I am setting up to use Keyman inside Windows XP running on Parallels Desktop installed on a MacBook. I have been trying to make a keyboard to facilitate keyboarding the few special characters for the language in which we worked in PNG.
I downloaded the keyboard developer program from the Tavaulsoft website and created a keyboard layout and compiled it. The program said it was compiled successfully, but when trying to add it to Keyman kept getting an error message saying it was corrupt. One possible hitch was that the developer program was v7.0 whereas the version of Keyman I had was only 6. I actually downloaded the evaluation version of Keyman v7 but that too says the keyboard is corrupt.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Tavultesoft Tavultesoft Staff | Hi,
We have no idea if Keyman will function correctly at all under Parallels or not -- this is the first time we've come across the situation! That said, the best thing to do is email the keyboard file you created to us. We can verify if it's actually corrupt or if it's returning the wrong error due to the environment. Kind regards, Paul Durdin |

Shwe Asia | Hi,
Now I use with iMac Computer. I create my own keyboard with SILkeys, that is very similer with keyman. If you skilled in Keyman developer, you can create SILkeyboard. That is freeware and on-line support. Regards, Shwe Asia |

Tavultesoft Tavultesoft Staff | You can download KMFL for Linux ( http://kmfl.sourceforge.net/ ) which is mostly compatible with Keyman Desktop. There is no equivalent product for Mac OS X |

Wol Wol | Thanks that really helps with the linux stuff. I still think someone should work on making it compartable to Mac period. Windows are great but many people are going to Mac nowadays. |

Andrew C. Keyboard Designer | There are tools out there available for the Mac, nothing as flexible as Keyman Desktop, but there are solutions available. |

Marc Durdin Tavultesoft Staff | Ukelele is a tool for creating Mac OS X keyboard layouts. It is not compatible with Keyman Desktop keyboards. You can download it from: http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&id=ukelele |
